This method may not work if you are using a local device with Genymotion Desktop on a PC or Mac Intel, because our Android images architecture is x86 on those systems. Many applications will fail to install from Google Play Store, mainly because it detects that Genymotion devices are emulated:
To workaround this, the easiest solution is to use Aurora Store, an open-source alternative to Google Play Store
Pre-requiste
You will need to get Aurora Store APK to install it in Genymotion. We recommend the following sources to get the latest stable version:
Installation
Start a virtual device, and drag'n drop the Aurora Store APK file to the device display. The APK will be automatically side-loaded to the device.
Setup
Once installation is complete, Aurora Store should open automatically. You will then need to follow these steps to set it up:
- Aurora will request you to enable some authorizations. We recommend enabling only the required authorizations.
- Login to Aurora Store. We recommend logging in as Anonymous:

Go to the settings, and select "Spoof manager":
- Select a device of your choice, and click "Restart":
- Aurora will restart and ask you to log in again. Log in again as Anonymous, and you are done!
You can now install apps or games that were not available in Google Play Store:
